Library Regulations

a) All students enrolled in the school automatically become library members.

b) Each student is permitted to borrow maximum 2 books at a time, and the borrowing period is limited to two weeks.

c) Book transactions occur exclusively during designated library periods. No issuance or return of books is permitted during regular teaching hours.

d) Any form of marking, underlining, or writing on library books is strictly prohibited.

e) Reference books and current periodicals are restricted from circulation; these can only be utilized within the confines of the library.

f) Failure to return books within the specified timeframe will be considered a serious matter, resulting in fines according to stipulated rules.

g) The librarian reserves the right to recall a book at any time, irrespective of whether the standard loan period has concluded.

h) In the event of book misuse, mishandling, or loss, the responsible party must either replace the book or remit the full book price.

i) A ‘No Dues Certificate’ must be obtained from the librarian when withdrawing any student from the school.

j) Strict order and silence must be observed within the library.

Library Periods

Each class from 1 onwards is allocated one library period weekly. During this time, students can utilize the library for reading, consulting newspapers and magazines, referring to books, and borrowing books. Books can be returned at any time. Additionally, students may use the library during their free time, provided no other class is currently scheduled for a library period.

Book Issuance

Typically, a student is permitted to borrow two books for a 14-day period. Deliberate delays incur an overdue charge of Rs. 1/- per day. Staff members may borrow a maximum of five books for a 14-day period.

Reference Books

Reference books, such as encyclopedias and dictionaries, are not available for circulation. They may be consulted within the library during designated library periods. However, students may request to borrow these books for project work and special assignments through approval from the respective teacher.

Magazines/Periodicals

New issues of magazines are not available for borrowing. Only old issues of magazines and periodicals can be borrowed.

Class Libraries

Each class is equipped with its own class library. Class teachers have been provided with an adequate number of books corresponding to the level, which may be utilized during teaching periods. Magazines for the primary section are provided separately.
